Welcome to the California Department of Veterans Affairs (CalVet), Office of Procurement and Contracts webpage. This webpage provides resources needed to conduct business with CalVet's Procurement Unit. To start, vendors interested in conducting business with CalVet must possess the following minimum requirements:

  • California Business License issued by the city or county where the business is located
  • Bureau of Equalization License
  • Good Standing with the Secretary of State, if a corporation

CalVet's encourages vendors that provide products containing recycled content to participate in CalRecyle's Market Development Zone (RMDZ) program. For information on the RMDZ program, vendors can click on the following link: CalRecycle RMDZ program

CalRecycle also provides State Agencies a search engine to locate certified California small business and certified California Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises as well as businesses that offer products compliant with the State Agency Buy Recycled Program Campaign (SABRC). The search engine can be found here: CalRecycle Business Search

Additionally, CalVet recommends all businesses contact the California Department of General Services (DGS) to be given a vendor/bidder ID in Cal e-Procure. This ID along with a list of goods and services that are entered into DGS e-procure system as categories are used by the state departments to search for vendor/bidders with the good and/or services they need. You can reach DGS by visiting the DGS' How to do business with the State of California web page.
