Colonel Charles B. Dockery, commanding officer of the U.S. Marine Corps Air Station, Miramar, will be the featured speaker at the eighth annual Veterans Memorial Service, May 26, at Miramar National Cemetery. Joining Dockery at the podium will be Brian Alvin, Chief of Operations, Pacific District, National Cemetery Administration, and Master Sergeant Matthew Foster, USMC (Ret.), San Diego County Veteran of the Year. The memorial service begins at 1 p.m., and lasts about an hour.
San Diego veterans and their families, active duty military and members of the public are invited to attend. About 600 are expected to attend the service. Miramar National Cemetery Support Foundation sponsors the event.
