Utah couple's relentless pursuit to end veteran suicide: 'If it's not us — then who?'

STARS AND STRIPES --- AnnaBelle Bryan knows the therapy is working when she hears the laugh. She hears it through the wall separating her office from her husband's, and she almost always hears it during a veteran's fifth or sixth session. She knows that in a few short weeks the person laughing will test negative for post-traumatic stress disorder. And she's usually right.

In the basement of Building 73 on the University of Utah campus in Salt Lake City, veterans and psychologists AnnaBelle and Craig Bryan have researched and developed suicide-prevention and PTSD treatments with near-perfect success rates.
