Julian Manalo has served as Administrator at the Veterans Home of California – West Los Angeles since 2015. Prior to that, he served as the Home's deputy administrator for one year.
His experience also includes serving as residential care facility for the elderly administrator at the Village Homes of Moreno Valley, from 2006 to 2012, and serving as fire chief and emergency management coordinator at the California Department of Mental Health, Patton State Hospital, from 1995 to 2008.
Mr. Manalo has more than 15 years of service with the California Army National Guard, where he served as a captain from 1999 to 2008, and the California Air National Guard, where he served from 2008 to 2014, obtaining the rank of major and working as a medical administrator. He was a homeland response force observer, controller and trainer at the National Guard Bureau Joint Staff, Office of the Joint Surgeon in 2013, and operations and training officer in the California Air National Guard Homeland Response Force from 2010 to 2013.
He was appointed administrator of the West Los Angeles Veterans Home by Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. in September 2015.
