Veteran Service Office Fund (VSOF)

The Veterans Service Office Fund was created by Chapter 1274, Statutes of 1992 (AB 3016) to support county veteran service offices through the sale of specialized veteran license plates.

Veteran Service Office Fund appropriation under the current budget act,  M&V Code, Section 972.2 is as follows:

  • Funding is distributed in "pro-rata" shares to counties who have appointed a CVSO in accordance with CCR, Section 451 and who have submitted semi-annual reports and their current six-month net expenditures and claim for subvention funds signed by their auditor/controller or an authorized individual.
  • An additional training component was added to Local Assistance starting FY 05/06 for each county that has appointed a CVSO in accordance with CCR's Section 451.  A reduction is applied for each of the three (3) sanctioned trainings not attended.
  • Any surplus funds due to non-attendance at the sanctioned trainings are re-allocated the following pay-period.
